About Xs Designs

The Basics

Xs Designs is a Hastings, East-Sussex based web design and hosting business. Dedicated to providing the best quality service we can at the lowest price possible, while always remaining friendly and personal. We provide the kind of personal, friendly service you just can't get from the big multi-million pound businesses, without the hefty price tag.

The Backstory

Xs Designs was set-up in early 2009, with dreams of making a name for itself in the South-East web design community. After a couple good jobs we were well on our way to being an up and coming new company.

The Owner

As with any business, Xs Designs has its CEO, its boss, its owner and he is Dan 'Xs' Pickett. From as young as 13 he showed an entrepreneurial mindset with aspirations to make something of himself, after going down the Graphics Design path and realising that wasn't for him, he decided to pursue his long term passion, web design. While at secondary school he did the odd few forum skins and basic web management projects for friends, and in mid 2007 he decided to become something more, he plunged himself into the world of self employment with no web coding qualifications to speak of and blew away his clients. This is when he knew that web design was the field for him, so he set about getting all the pieces of paper to back up his proven skill set. While doing this he attracted the attention of Hastings' biggest web design company, FAT Promotions Ltd, who took him on for a work placement position. During his short stay at FAT he once again proved his amazing flare for coding solutions and problem solving, working with some of the regions biggest companies and assisting them on several problems which many would deem, above his skill set.
